Work process improvement: let your diamond shine

During the last few months, a lot of work has been done behind the scenes at internet company IQNOMY; more than four hundred beta testers helped us with the further developments of our new Liquid Internet solution. It has been a hectic but great period, in which we were given valuable user feedback.
Developing a successful software solution is like cutting diamonds: you have the raw material in your hands, but you still have to make all the facets yourself. And when should you stop cutting? Do your customers love your diamond as it is or do you need to proceed with some more cuts for a scintillating result? Our current pride, the MyLiquidSuite, is a precious instrument for building real time multidimensional profiles of B2C website visitors and for increasing ROI with relevant content. Our developers know exactly which functionalities are ‘hidden’ in the tool. Users are exploring a world of unprecedented new business opportunities. As there are so many, it sometimes makes it hard to know where and when to start measuring, analyzing and acting.
What makes your customers smile? By listening at their business needs and process their feedback into the offered business solution. But also by providing speed and real time insights and keeping the operational costs as low as possible. Of course, you need to find the right balance between customer requirements and your team capacity.
Customer interaction = key facet
In the coming weeks, IQNOMY will be focusing on an important service improvement: simplifying the Liquid Internet application and enhancing the usability of it. For this, my colleagues Erwin and Christian will do some interaction research. The application should gradually become intuitive, enabling customers with unambiguous steps to turn their websites into ‘liquid’ ones.
A selection of twenty companies will be attentively monitored and guided. On a weekly basis, these customers will be assisted in organizing and maintaining the Liquid Internet service. All to do’s will be logged step by step in the application. User quantities will be interpreted as input for alerts and functionality improvements. After eight weeks, the results will be evaluated. On a weekly basis, this will be done in detail, with the following central question: what needs to be done to let our customers employ our application to the max? The diamond is ready to shine.
